October 12 "And have ye not read this scripture; the stone which the builders rejected is become the head of the corner: This was the Lord's doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes." Mark 12:10,11 Our challenge today! Thousands of years ago a group of people decided that Jesus was insignificant. They decided that He was an obstacle to religious life and an impediment to all mankind. They marked him as a criminal and rejected him. They never ever thought that he would become such an impact in the world! God sent his only begotten son (Jesus) and He was rejected but now has become the head of all principalities and powers. This was God's great plan to bring salvation into the world and despite what man wanted to do by bringing Jesus to his death, God has done a marvelous work by bringing many to an eternal life through Jesus Christ! Therefore through one man's death many have come to life! He was despised and rejected of men yet he is the greatest king that reigns as Lord of all forevermore! Receive Him today into your life that He may rein in your heart also! Souls For Christ Ministries Daily Devotions

SFC DAILY DEVOTIONS "And Jesus answering said, were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine? There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger." Luke 17:17,18 Our challenge today! In the United States and elsewhere in the world the Holiday of Thanksgiving is celebrated. It is meant to give thanks for our blessings. The sad thing is many only give thanks only on this Holiday and often they don't know whom to thank. Jesus Christ is the giver of all good gifts and we should begin each day by giving thanks for his new mercies, that he has given us life today, and that we are blessed with family and friends and many other spiritual and material blessings. Look around you, there must be something that you can thank God for today! Give God thanks everyday not just on the Thanksgiving Holiday! Thank you Jesus for your great wonders and awesome love! www.souls-for-christ.com www.carymcquaid.com www.believersgifts.com Souls For Christ Ministries Daily Devotions

SFC DAILY DEVOTIONS "Let brotherly love continue. Be not forgetful to entertain strangers for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.” Hebrews 13:1-2 Our challenge today! One day volunteering at a food bank I had my children with me, and a woman walked in off the street. This woman was dirty, hair not combed and clothes were tattered. I immediately asked what we could do to help her and she said she needed food and money. I asked her "do you need Jesus?" and she lit up and said "Oh...I have Him already". I put her bag of food together and little bit of cash and she thanked us and went on her way. After she left, my daughter said to me, "how do you know she really does need help, maybe she just wants to take advantage of us?" I explained that we are not to judge what we give. God has freely given to us and we should freely give back. What she does with it is between her and God. Please...the next time you see someone who is reaching out their hand to you for help...do not put any thought as to why they are in that place, how did they get there, etc. Reach out and help them if you will. You never know.... if it is an angel sent from God to test your heart.

August 31 "Honor the Lord with all thy substance, and with the first fruits of all thine increase: So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine." Proverbs 3:9,10 Our challenge today! When we give back to God from our increase he will bless us with more.

SFC DAILY DEVOTIONS August 25 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature." Mark 16:15 Our challenge today! The question for many people is: "Who was Jesus talking to when he gave this command?" Many will answer: "He was talking to his Disciples." This is a correct answer, however who does he consider his Disciples? Those who believe and confess Him to be their Lord and Savior and love him, because those who love him in spirit and truth; will be his followers and they will keep his commands. The question of whose responsibility this is Jesus has clearly answered: "His Disciples!" Are you a Disciple of Christ? If you love him in truth you will not neglect this area of responsibility. "Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid." Mathew 5:13

August 23 "For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." Romans 10:12,13 Our challenge today! God is not a respecter of persons, unlike many people who show respect unto others by judging a persons status, race, or likeability, God knows us all as his children. There is no difference between male and female, black and white, Muslim or Jew, for whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Yes it's true; a Muslim can call on Jesus and still get the same love that a Christian can! God's love is not reserved only for the elite! He shares it with all who desire to be loved. Yes it's true women can pray to Jesus and be heard just the same as a man who prays to him because Jesus doesn't reserve his ear for only for men! He shares his time with all that desire a relationship with him! It doesn't matter who you are, where you've been, or what you have believed in the past, Jesus is available to you right now, just call on his name and he shall hear you from on high and rescue you from it all!

August 17 "And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house." Acts 16:31 Our challenge today! "Believe" is "where the rubber meets the road" or "where the tree produces fruit" To believe in Jesus is what makes it all happen. Whatever will happen, will happen according to what or whom you believe. It is one thing to go to church, one thing to read your Bible, one thing to be able to quote scriptures, and one thing to be very wise, but a totally different thing when you believe in Jesus. To believe is to have faith, at the end of the day when all is spent, when all your strengths have been used, and when all your resources are gone, all you have left is your belief. That's where Jesus is and that's when Jesus takes over. Now that you can drive no more, Jesus takes the wheel! Thank God that when we have no more to give, Jesus gives. He gives us love, hope, courage, strength, and the assurance that he has the wheel and will drive us to safety! Believe on Jesus and your life, though it may have seemed to be finished or is at it's end, it will just be starting anew! Have faith in Jesus and you shall be saved! You and your house shall be delivered from your troubles! Jesus, take the wheel today.

August 15 "And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in which land ye dwell: but as for me and my house we will serve the Lord." Joshua 24:15 Our challenge today! Many people in our day believe that serving the Lord is an evil thing. Often you hear people talk about religious people as though they are weak or crazy, but God will never force anyone to follow him! In fact the spirit of God is gentle. Even so whether a person follows God accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior they will not be forced by God, they will have to choose for themselves. True God is longsuffering not willing that any perish, but he will not force anyone to serve him. You must choose! Choose YOU this day whom you will serve it is your choice, but God weighs all our choices as it written: "Every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord!" SFC DAILY DEVOTIONS August 9 "We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves. Let every one of us please his neighbor for his good edification. For even Christ pleased not himself, but as it is written; the reproaches of them that reproached thee fell on me." Romans 15:1-3 Our challenge today! So the questions are: Are we our brother’s keeper? And are we expected to look after the weak? Yes! Compassion for others can change the world. In Isaiah 58 it tells us that if we reach out to others our light will shine in obscure places. Our world today has many dark places and the only thing that will make it different is when we the stronger help to carry the burdens of the weaker and put our neighbor before ourselves, just as Jesus did when he gave his life to take our burdens of sin.

SFC DAILY DEVOTIONS August 4 “Submit yourselves therefore unto God. Resist the Devil and he will flee from you.” James 4:7 Our challenge today! Often you hear the saying: “Just say no!” Many believe that they can live their life in their own strength and be able to stand strong against wrong just by saying no. The truth is the Bible tells us not to think more highly of ourselves than we ought, meaning we can fall to temptation at anytime if we do not have help. Our help is in Jesus. Submit yourselves to Jesus he will help you, in fact when you submit yourself to Jesus you will be able to resist the devil and he will flee from you. Take note how it says flee, that doesn’t mean the devil will walk away quietly. THE DEVIL WILL RUN!!! Greater is Jesus who is in you than the devil that is in this world! www.souls-for-christ.com www.carymcquaid.com Souls For Christ Ministries Daily Devotions

SFC DAILY DEVOTIONS August 3 "And Judah acknowledged them and said, She hath been more righteous than I; because that I gave her not to Shelah my son. And he knew her again no more." Genesis 38:26 Our challenge today! Was it a broken pledge gone array? It could have happened! Tamar was married to two of Judah’s sons and they both died and so Judah made a pledge with Tamar saying that she should go and live at her Father’s house until his youngest son was old enough and then he would give her to him to marry, well when he didn’t do that Tamar devised a plan to catch Judah in his pledge. Have you ever pledged to do something and have not followed through or have you given your word to someone and not kept it? Our word is all that we have that tells others about our heart. If we desire to have good relations with society, our family, and our friends we must keep our word. There could be very severe consequences when we fail to do so. Keep your pledge and fulfill your word that you have agreed with other to do. Let not the devil have an open door to bring destruction or shame into your life! www.souls-for-christ.com www.carymcquaid.com Souls For Christ Ministries Daily Devotions

SFC DAILY DEVOTIONS August 2 Our challenge today! It seems that trouble can be found everywhere these days. As sin abounds and the hearts of people grows cold we as Christians often see an increase of trouble. Take note of how Jesus walks with us through it all! He revives us when we are down and defends us from all around. As trouble increases God's grace increases and he assures us he is here and will save us from all our troubles.

July 25 "Knowing this that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing." James 1:3,4 Our challenge today! Faith cometh by hearing; and hearing, of the word of God. So do you have faith? Your faith will be tried! God allows our faith to be tested so that we can mature and one of the signs of maturity is having patience. He wants us to be perfect, but often we want things to happen quickly. Patience is a great gift because many times in life we desire things to happen as though we were entering a fast food drive through. To be mature is to wait on God. "But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not grow weary, they shall walk and not faint." July 24 " And it came to pass, when he had made an end of speaking unto Saul, that the soul of Jonathan was knit with the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as his own soul." 1Samuel 18:1 Our challenge today! David was now a hero; he had just defeated Goliath and was in the presence of King Saul. What a great victory! The sad thing about this verse is it has been repeatedly twisted to justify a behavior that God calls an abomination. Much of the Bible has been mistakenly applied to justify wrong. This does not say that Jonathan fell in lust with David, what is says is Jonathan loved David like a brother! Homosexuality is an abomination and those that participate in this behavior will be held accountable. There is nothing in the Bible that gives permission to this sin or any other sin. God does not grant us permission to sin! If you are in sin, God says repent! Repent and turn from your wicked ways he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins. Sin is separation from God, but God has made a way to be reunited with him through Jesus Christ! "If we confess our sins he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." 1John1: 9 www.souls-for-christ.com www.carymcquaid.com Souls For Christ Ministries Daily Devotions

SFC DAILY DEVOTIONS July 23 "In the Lord put I my trust: how say ye to my soul, Flee as a bird to your mountain? For lo, the wicked bend their bow, they make ready their arrow upon the string that they may privately shoot at the upright in heart. If the foundations be destroyed what are the righteous to do? Psalm 11:1-3 Our challenge today! David is fleeing from Saul and he appeals to God in prayer with this question. What is the righteous to do? In the Book of Jude we can find a few things that the righteous should do. 1. Earnestly contend for the faith. (Stand up for righteousness before evil overtakes you.) 2. Build up yourself and others in the faith. (Preach the word to others around you.) 3. Have compassion making a difference. (With compassion help others around you.) 4. Save with fear and reverence others, pulling them out of the fire. (Those who win souls are wise.) Jude gives us options to prevent the foundations of righteousness from being destroyed. It has been said that evil prevails because good people do nothing to prevent its spread. Make a difference today! www.souls-for-christ.com Souls For Christ Ministries Daily Devotions

SFC DAILY DEVOTIONS July 20 “For by thy words thou shalt be justified and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.” Mathew 12:37 Our challenge today! Have you heard that old saying; “Sticks and Stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me?” Well the truth is, words can hurt people really bad! Words have the power to bring life or death, so words can hurt even as much as to kill a person in spirit. Many great and successful people have made it because at the right time, a life giving word was spoken to encourage them and to let them know that they can do it! Are you a parent, a wife, husband, or a friend and have you spoken words of negativity to another lately? Go to them and seek forgiveness and speak encouraging words to them. It’s not what goes into the mouth that defiles a man, but what comes out! www.souls-for-christ.com www.carymcquaid.com Souls For Christ Ministries Daily Devotions

July 19 “Behold how good and pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! It is like precious ointment upon the head.” Psalm 133:1,2 Our challenge today! Are you feeling a little tired and worn out from the troubles of life? There are so many troubles in the world today! Fear and nervousness about the future, increase in crime, and an increasing absence of peace and safety; When is the last time you had a nice evening with friends or family without having to discuss work or problems in life? If you have the opportunity to spend some time with friends and family, agree in your mind to be in unity and peace, it will bring joy and a refreshing to your soul in a time of need. Sing praises unto the Lord with friends and family, for the joy of the Lord is your strength! Take time to focus on family, friends, and love instead of your problems today. July 18 "But I say unto you, that in this place is one greater than the temple." Mathew 12:6 Our challenge today! Do Ivory towers, stained glass windows, marble floors, and crystal chandeliers sound like a great church? Unfortunately many people like to talk about their church and how great it is or how nice it looks. Billions of dollars are spent to make these facilities, yet the most important thing is often missing. If Jesus isn't in it then the temple is worthless! It is worthless to talk about a building that has no love, to worship in a place that has no Jesus, and to devote your life to a work that will all come tumbling down in the end. Turn your eyes to Jesus, turn your heart to love, and turn your life work to the things that will last, souls will last! All that is done for Jesus will last, but all else will pass! www.souls-for-christ.com www.carymcquaid.com Souls For Christ Ministries Daily Devotions

July 17 "Who hath believed our report? And to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed?" Isaiah 53:1 Our challenge today! I was recently talking with a sister in Christ and she was telling me that her son was diagnosed as "mentally ill" and they recommended that she should "put him away". This sister full of faith in Jesus did not believe the doctor's report, but instead chose to believe in Jesus. The bible tells us "we are healed by His stripes". This courageous mother of faith was strengthened and the arm of the Lord revealed Himself. She was young and single with very little help. Yet, Jesus was with her and never forsook her. Her son is an active 18-year-old young man who was given a chance in life because of the faith his mother had in Jesus. She believed in God's report, and did not believe that the Lord's arm was too short that He could not heal him.

July 16 "Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment." 1Corinthians 1:10 Our challenge today! Too many times people listen to voices that are not from God. They listen to anything that seems right in their own judgment. Jesus said; "My sheep hear my voice" If we listen to the voice of Jesus we will be perfectly joined together having the same mind. To be in one accord is to follow what Jesus says together and agree with his word. Many don't hear his voice because they aren't in his word. Many don't speak the same things because they read or listen to any teaching they can get. Many are divided because they follow a different voice. What has been your source of information lately? Let there be no divisions amongst you; follow only the word of God! { Last Page } { Page 1 of 7 } { Next Page } |
